【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthechemicalanalysisofclaysusedinthemanufactureofceramicwhitewares.1.2Theanalyticalproceduresappearinthefollowingorder:Note1Thesetestmethodshavebeencompiledasstandardproceduresforuseinrefereeanalyses.Thesetestmethods,however,whenthedeterminationofironoxideasFe2O3isinvolved,arenotintendedtoprecludetheuseofotherproceduresthatgiveresultswithinthepermissiblevariations.ForthesakeofuniformitytheclassicalZimmerman-Reinhardtprocedureisspecifiedforthedeterminationofironoxide.Itisrecognizedthatnumerousotherproceduresareequallyaccurateandoftenmoreconvenient.Theotherprocedurescommonlyinuseincludereductionofanoxidizedsolutionwithzincorothermetal,andtitrationwithstandardpotassiumpermanganate(KMnO4)orpotassiumdichromate(K2Cr2O7)solution,aswellastitrationwithastandardsolutionoftitanouschlorideinanoxidizedsolution.Theseproceduresshallbeconsideredacceptable,providedtheanalysthasobtainedresultsbyhisspecialprocedurethatcheckwiththeZimmerman-ReinhardtprocedurewithinthelimitsspecifiedinSection.ItissuggestedthatNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnologystandardsamplesbeusedforcheckingtheaccuracyofprocedures.Itwillbeunderstoodthatthemakingofacompleteanalysisofaceramicwhitewareclayisadifficultprocedurerequiringawideknowledgeofthechemistryinvolvedintheoperationsandathoroughtrainingincarryingoutthework.Askilledanalystofgoodtrainingisthereforerequiredtodothework.Thedescriptionsheregivencoverthevitalpointsofprocedure,butfrequentreferenceinregardtothedetailsofthevariousmanipulationsshouldbemadeto"AppliedInorganicAnalysis"byHillebrandandLundellandtosimilarpublications.Particularlyinthedeterminationofalumina,referenceshouldbemadetoScientificPaperNo.286oftheNationalBureauofStandards.1.3Thevaluesstatedinacceptablemetricunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
